There are huge advantages in installing LED lights – and they’re mostly to do with savings on your electricity bills and efficiency.
LED lighting – the advantages
EFFICIENCY – LED's are the most energy
efficient source of lighting on the market today. Their efficiency (the amount
of supplied energy transformed into visible light) is an incredible 80-95%
whereas the efficiency of incandescent
light bulbs is just 5-10%.
DURABILITY – The operating time for LEDlighting is TEN times longer than a halogen bulb and TWENTY FIVE times more
than regular bulbs. The average lifespan of LED lighting is NINE to FIFTEEN
years.
IMPACT RESISTANCE – LED sources of light
have o moving parts ad glass, making it resistant to shock and impact unlike
fluorescent and incandescent bulbs which are fragile.
FOCUSING – You can direct LED lighting to
wherever you want it. It’s possible to build a focused light without the use of
headlights.
COLOUR – Bring more colour into your life.
With LED technology it’s possible to achieve any colour of light to suit your
mood – in the home, the office, or the factory. The modules available on
today’s market provide an almost unlimited palette of colours of light.
Light colour tempereture.
DIMMERS – LED's can work with dimmer
switches which is their main advantage over competitive, energy-saving light
sources.
LOW HEAT EMISSION – LED lights give off
very small amounts of heat due to their high efficiency. This allows you to use
them to light objects sensitive to heat radiation, such as refrigerators.
SLOW EXTINCTIO AFTER LIFE – As they reach
the end of their lives, LEDS gradually lose brightness – they do not go out
suddenly like light bulbs, and don’t start to flash like fluorescent lamps.
SIZE – LED's can be very small and are
easily populated onto printed circuit boards.
SAVING
THE PLANET – In contrast to other light sources, LED output does not require
the use of mercury metals or other hazardous materials threatening the
environment. They are more environmentally friendly.
